Peer Advisor Program

The AED Pre-Medical Honor Society Chapter Officers provide Peer Advising to students who are interested in the Pre-Health Professions. Please click here for the Spring Schedule. You may also visit the AED website at http://clubs.arizona.edu/~aed/main.html for information.

Pre-Health Peer Advisor Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned special program assignments.

  • Perform duties delegated by Pre-health Professions Advisor and/or Pre-health Administrative Assistant.

  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings (to be arranged).

  • Assist in special programs and outreach presentations for students.

  • Assist pre-health students in getting rapid and accurate response to inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Arizona and have attained sophomore standing.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or upward trend.

  • Be familiar with and support the pre-health peer advising philosophy.

  • Solid understanding of what it is like to be a pre-health student.

  • Honest and abide by a high standard of integrity.

  • Demonstrate maturity of judgment, tact, and self-control.

  • Genuine interest in helping students adjust to all facets of university life.

  • Responsible, consistent, flexible, and enthusiastic.

  • Positive attitude which is readily communicated to others.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
