AMCAS Letter of Evaluation/Recommendation Pilot Program Starting with the 2009 application cycle, AMCAS is implementing a Letter of Evaluation/Recommendation pilot program. There are 20 schools participating in this pilot program including The University of Arizona College of Medicine. Link here to the list of schools participating in this program.. If one or more of your schools is participating in this new process, you will most likely ALSO be applying to schools that are not in the pilot program. We still highly recommend that you create your account with the pre-health advising center, submit your letters directly to our office and take advantage of the VirtualEvals system for those schools. The pilot program schools WILL ACCEPT a VirtualEvals packet so you will have the option of using that packet of letters for all of your schools. If you are applying to any of the schools participating in the AMCAS pilot program, the steps for sending your letters of recommendation are:
Your application will be processed by AMCAS and sent to medical schools with or without letters. In other words, AMCAS does not "hold" applications until all letters are received.
